The preceding generations have known for years about the risks to our planet and did nothing. Indeed, they made it worse.

Our children should not have to fear for their future because we have sat back and indolently watched the world burn.

We should not have allowed criminally negligent fossil fuel industries to continue in their courses.

We should not have tolerated those placed in power by their own people to aid and abet the continuance of criminally negligent fossil fuel industries.

We should take all necessary action to make systemic change in our institutions, governments, health and social care systems, infrastructure and laws in order to make fair distributions of resources and energy
.

We should all rise in peaceful protest against those who would seek the continuance of criminally negligent fossil fuel industries and their private and political sponsors.

We should not ignore the scientific evidence and carry on with business as usual, for this will surely kill us all.

We should not have allowed the exploitation and destruction of the natural world in the pursuit of unchecked free-market capitalism, corporate profit and personal gain.

We should not live beyond our means and deplete nature for reasons of greed, avarice, power or territory; the planet’s resources are finite and the natural world is already collapsing.

That our children should have to shoulder this burden at all is a matter of the deepest shame for the rest of us.

Please, participate in some way to further the cause in whichever peaceful, disobedient, non-violent, non-destructive and disobedient way that you can.

This is, after all, an EMERGENCY.
